About The Position

Our Orlando, Florida, (FL) office is looking for a Civil Operator or Designer with 8+ years of experience to join our Land Development team!

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience in Land Development
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree preferred)
• Ability to set up and manage printing/plotting settings
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Willingness to mentor and teach others
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage drafting and plan preparation standards
• Develop technical drawings and plans for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential Land Development projects
• Implement and manage AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards
• Make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity
• Perform some multifaceted calculations
• Requires minimal supervision to perform day to day tasks
• Suggest design changes based on knowledge of engineering principles
• Maintain drawing database
• Supervise and train CAD staff
• Coordinate work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control
• Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn's practices, procedures, and standards
