About The Position

The Technical Services Senior Chemist / Group Leader will provide technical assistance in the operation and use of metalworking fluids and lubricants for the industrial segment of Fuchs Lubricants Co., with an eye toward maintaining both internal and external customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Basic knowledge of wet chemistry.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with a positive and constructive attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial laboratory experience.
  • Experience with XRF, autotitrators, manual titrations, quenchometers, viscometers, Karl Fischer, flash point.
  • Experience with metalworking fluids (coolants, cleaners, rust inhibitors, forming fluids).
  • Field support and technical service experience.
  • Ability to think outside-the-box.
  • Laboratory Information Management Software Experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access). Experience with SAP a plus.
  • Leadership skills to include coaching, mentoring, training, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Utilization of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), in conjunction with global colleagues.
  • Supervise, develop & mentor technical service technicians.
  • Generate data and/or prepare technical reports on non-routine troubleshooting requests for both internal & external customers
  • Collaborate with sales representatives/teams on troubleshooting and other customer-focused activities.
  • Maintain acceptable turnaround times for routine and non-routine analyses.
  • Responsible for writing and maintaining work instructions and testing protocols.
  • Support & maintenance of laboratory equipment. Maintain training program for laboratory equipment, where applicable.
  • Ensure safety protocols and environmental compliance.
  • Implement and prioritize 6S protocols to enhance laboratory organization, safety, and efficiency.
  • Collaboration with QC and R&D departments to address customer issues and product development.
