The position involves evaluating, selecting, and applying standard scientific techniques, processes, and criteria in the development, adaptation, and modification of new and existing products and technologies specifically for the Aerospace and Defense markets. The role requires adherence to project management processes across multiple concurrent projects and collaboration in a cross-functional environment as a representative of Research, Development, and Innovation (RD&I). The individual will interact effectively with colleagues across various regions including the US, Europe, South America, and Asia, and will assist Sales and Marketing in the commercialization efforts for newly developed products. Additionally, the role includes conducting and supervising research for new product development and reformulations of existing products, utilizing innovative ideas and nano materials. The individual will conduct lab testing and ensure scientific rigor throughout all phases of new product development and updates to existing products. Technical assistance and support will be provided to production, sales, and marketing departments as needed, particularly in product scale-up, quality control, application testing, and other cross-functional activities. The position also requires maintaining detailed technical records in the form of a laboratory notebook or computer database, and providing process reports, monthly and quarterly reports, technical plans, project summaries, and other internal correspondence in a timely manner to ensure effective communication of project status and needs.
