About The Position

The Senior Category Program Manager (SCPM) role is responsible for executing category strategies in the field by leveraging product expertise and delivering sales training across multiple product categories. This role also manages supplier engagement and program execution including promotions, new product introductions, and product launches. The Senior Category Program Manager leads and develops a team of (5) Category Program Managers (CPMs), providing guidance, coaching, and performance management to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Strong presentation skills, solid product knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently are essential, along with travel requirements up to 50%. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in category management, sales operations, supplier or vendor relationship management, sales training and program execution or product management (especially in automotive or related industrial sectors)
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Basic analytical abilities
  • Extensive product knowledge relevant to assigned categories such as Filters, Brakes, Undercar, HD/Fleet, Underhood, Heating & Cooling
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage several programs simultaneously
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%
  • Effectively communicates by motivating and inspiring others through clear and proactive communication.

Responsibilities

  • Execute category strategies in the field focusing on product expertise.
  • Provide comprehensive sales training to Business Development Managers (BDMs), Field Sales, Independent Store Owner (ISO), and Company Owned Stores (COS).
  • Engage with suppliers through training, sales initiatives, and product knowledge enhancement.
  • Manage program execution involving promotions (Promos), new product introductions (NPIs), and product launches.
  • Manage multiple category initiatives simultaneously to ensure timely and successful outcomes.
