Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in business, analytics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred but not required
  • At least 5 years experience in retail, e-commerce, business development or sales; experience with B2B environment preferred
  • Strong relationship building/ management and business development skills, including lead generation, negotiation necessary to acquire and retain partners
  • A strong knowledge of marketplaces, their functioning, and Ulta's value proposition to sellers
  • Experience in using actionable campaign research and data to improve, optimize and drive future campaigns, incorporating a fail fast, fail cheap model of learning
  • Ability to track and confidently translate digital performance metrics that drive financial targets
  • Ground in data collection, activation, and measurement concepts within the digital space; understanding of approaches for measuring incrementality
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics a plus, advanced Excel/Sheets skills are essential
  • Demonstrated proficiency leading analytically rigorous sales planning and initiatives
  • Strong communication skills with ability to teach new concepts and effectively communicate feedbacks from field sales team to other squads
  • Active coach and mentor whose goal is to grow and maximize the team's potential

Responsibilities

  • Develop the strategy and approach of acquiring new brands in partnership with key internal stakeholders
  • Identify and manage a pipeline of strategic accounts across key categories
  • Develop creative solutions to identify new prospects and build a robust pipeline of new brands
  • Identifying channels, e.g., online and offline, for seeking potential sellers of the items
  • Forecast volume and number of new sellers and activities required to incubate them
  • Working closely with the Merchandising team to understand products, specifications, and prices to sell at in the marketplace
  • Conduct the pitch, negotiate deals until closure to get potential sellers to join the marketplace
  • Educate sellers on features, promotional campaign and market insights
  • Implements campaigns for new sellers
  • Interact with stakeholders of different teams to ensure products sold by new sellers receive enough visibility on the product pages
  • Update the management team on weekly progress
