As the Senior Category Manager, Direct Materials your responsibilities will be as follows: Your day to day: Strategic Planning : Design, implement and monitor procurement strategies to ensure supply security, meet financial and budget objectives and mid to long term category developments. Technical Expertise : Use your knowledge of direct materials and procurement processes to evaluate supply markets and select the best suppliers. Supplier Relationship Management: Lead negotiations and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the best quality, price and service. Quality & Compliance: Oversee the selection and quality of materials, ensure compliance with PMI and Regulatory standards. Process Optimization: Design and implement programs to streamline products and processes to realize productivity by challenging status quo. Documentation & Compliance: Review and approve contracts and price lists to ensure accurate documentation and supplier performance measurement. Leadership: Guide and motivate decentralized procurement team members and stakeholders to foster growth and development.
Requirements
- 12+ years in Purchasing, Planning, Development or Quality Assurance functions, with significant experience in purchasing, product development, and quality management working in a multinational environment.
- Strong people leadership experience.
- In-depth understanding of the supply market and related service categories.
- A university degree in Business Administration, Economics or Engineering.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong skills in financial analysis
- In-depth knowledge of negotiation techniques.
- Good command of process engineering.
- Strong project management skills.
- Effective time management.
