About The Position

Your job is more than a job The Senior Cash Accountant performs bank statement reconciliations, journal entries, month end close process, and audit preparation. Reconciles balance sheet accounts and resolves accounting discrepancies and irregularities by collecting and analyzing account information. Interacts with other departments to understand their transactions. Supports various audit activities (external and internal). Ensures that all deliverables comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Contributes to other department and organization special projects, as assigned. GENERAL DUTIES Review and match cash transactions on a daily basis using Workday software. Evaluate account balances and reconcile assigned accounts, ensuring unmatched and unreconciled items are investigated and resolved in a timely manner. Prepare journal entries and undertake other steps required to ensure a timely Close. Prepares and analyzes Book to Bank Reconciliation schedules. Train and review work by staff accountants as assigned. Ensure work is in compliance with department policies and processes. Proactively identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency of the monthly and quarterly close process while maintaining strong internal controls. Review and explain cash account variances at month end making necessary corrections as deemed necessary. Assist the Cash Manager with monthly reporting requirements and on an ad-hoc basis. Assist in the year-end audit process preparing audit schedules requested by the external auditors. Assist with annual budget preparation and ongoing forecasting Analyzes data to support business decision-making, manages financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting. LCMC Health is a community. Requirements

  • 5 years in an accounting position
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related fie
  • Supervisory skills
  • Excel proficiency
