  • Strong understanding of air cargo flows between Asia, North America, and South America, including interline and transshipment handling, IATA processes and procedures.

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Word, Teams)
  • Strong analytical judgment and ability to make rapid decisions in time-critical situations.
  • Effective communicator across regional teams, able to balance commercial and operational priorities.

  • Experience with global cargo hubs and interline partner coordination.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor all Miami flights to/from South America (SAMER) and connecting partner operations to ensure planned loads, connection integrity, and on-time performance.
  • Track inbound Atlas or partner flights from Asia carrying cargo transshipping in Miami for South America-bound connections, ensuring clear visibility of transfer timing, documentation, and build-up sequencing.
  • Identify potential misconnects or disruptions; assess and recommend whether to hold, rebook, or reroute shipments based on service commitments and revenue potential.
  • Coordinate closely with the Ground Operations team, Sales team and station staff to ensure real-time load adjustments are accurately executed.
  • Work with local cargo sales team and ground handling agents to facilitate late inflow of standby cargo for filling voids.
  • Monitor and optimize load factors using internal and external data sources and dashboards, and ensure maximization of utilization of aircraft capacity – optimal volume/density mix
  • Employ revenue management techniques to make capacity management recommendations to optimize load/yield/volume and prioritize cargo, balancing commercial value and customer service level agreements.
  • Manage pallet position and ULD utilization for Miami–SAMER flights, identifying underused positions and backfill opportunities
  • Maintain daily flight utilization dashboards for South America network, highlighting load factors, offload causes, voids, and yield performance.
  • Produce transshipment reports for Asia–Miami–SAMER traffic, tracking volumes, connection rates, and missed opportunities.
  • Provide proactive insights to sales and network planning on trends in lane utilization, capacity restrictions, and potential upsell or backfill opportunities.
  • Serve as a focal point for coordination between Network Planning, Sales, and Ground Operations, and station Atlas reps/Ground Handling Agents to ensure alignment on capacity management and space allocation issues.
  • Work closely with Asia and SAMER regional capacity teams to synchronize flows, confirm load availability, and manage interline connections or standby freight.
  • Support execution of Block Space Agreements (BSAs) and high-priority customer commitments for Miami–SAMER vv markets.
  • Act as an escalation point during irregular operations to mitigate lost revenue or cargo service failures
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of transshipment cargo connecting in Miami, ensuring transfer (and, where applicable, timely breakdown and efficient rebuild) of Asia-origin ULDs onto southbound flights.
  • Utilize AIMS, Hawk, and other systems to track inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring transfer information (pallet position, routing, and priority) is received prior to departure.
  • Coordinate between Atlas Air’s Asia-origin stations, Miami ground handling teams, and South America destination stations to minimize dwell time and maximize connection success.
  • Support process improvements that enhance the reliability and predictability of Miami hub transshipment operations.
  • Drive predictive and data-driven capacity planning initiatives to improve load factor, revenue yield, and service reliability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of misconnects, underloads, or delayed transshipments and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support development of standardized capacity management processes and tools specific to the Miami gateway
  • Coaching and development of Capacity Management Analyst – SAMER as joint processes are developed.
