About The Position

The Role: We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our Active Chassis Calibration team at GM’s Milford Proving Grounds which includes braking, steering, suspension, and driveline features. Our team develops and delivers world-class vehicle dynamics performance to our customers through innovative Chassis Controls features. The Calibration Engineer is responsible for calibrating actively controlled chassis technologies to provide safe and confident vehicle performance to the end user. This role is targeted toward braking features such as Antilock Braking (ABS), Traction Control (TCS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) along with many others. Active Chassis calibration is highly dynamic work involving significant hands-on time spent driving, evaluating and calibrating vehicles, deep technical analysis of the resulting data, and efforts to continually enhance the underlying algorithm, controls and processes. In addition to in-vehicle work, calibration engineers utilize advanced tools to achieve their goals including vehicle simulation environments, hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) benches and driver-in-the-loop (DiL) simulators. The engineers accomplish this work among a collaborative team of peer calibrators, algorithm specialists, bench engineers, system feature owners and performance engineers. Candidates should possess experience with vehicle control systems, in-vehicle performance evaluation, data processing, vehicle dynamics, calibration experience in a complex technology area, along with demonstrated planning, communication, teamwork, and prioritization skills.
