As a Senior Calibration & Instrumentation Technician, you will be trusted to take a lead role in identifying and solving complex metrology challenges related to inspection, manufacturing, and injection molding equipment at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX! Additionally, you will thrive in ambiguous situations, adapt quickly to change, collaborate with cross-functional teams, prioritize quality, and understand the importance of making risk-based decisions. In this role, a typical day will include: Applying knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to calibrate Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) across electrical, dimensional, physical, mechanical, environmental, and/or chemical disciplines to ensure measurement accuracy. Supporting calibrations of M&TE installed on inspection, manufacturing and injection molding machines and process equipment. Equipment examples include: Ultrasonic Welders Pneumatic Presses Vision Systems Automated Assembly Cells Packaging Equipment (e.g., Form-Fill-Seal Machines, Band Sealers, Shuttle Sealers) Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) Hand Instruments Weight Scales Leading, mentoring, and training junior technicians and develop training curricula for the department. Managing calibration workload and prioritization. Collaborating with Calibration Engineering and other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to establish robust and practical GxP calibration processes. Identifying, developing, and applying appropriate measurement procedures. Performing corrective actions to resolve identified measurement issues. Adapting equipment standards and procedures to accommodate unique measurements. Maintaining calibration standards and participating in determining calibration needs. Performing calibrations in both cleanroom and non-cleanroom environments. Supporting the design of new equipment by providing metrological insights for measurement systems. Supporting internal (e.g., Corporate) and external audits (e.g., FDA). Collaborating with Calibration Engineering to evaluate new calibration technologies and optimizing calibration intervals based on risk. Lifting up to 35 pounds.
