About The Position

As a Sr CAD Piping Designer at Montrose, you will be responsible for the layout and design aspects of our state-of-the-art water and air treatment technologies. This role involves supporting engineering design projects, preparing 3D models, creating detailed drawings, and ensuring compliance with technical requirements. You will work closely with a team of engineers and designers, participate in design reviews, and assist with fabrication and construction activities. Requirements

  • Two-year technical certification or bachelor’s degree.
  • 10+ years’ experience in related field and piping design.
  • 10+ years’ experience using 2D and 3D CAD software.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks within project schedules.
  • In-depth understanding of industry standard practices such as ASME & ASTM Codes.
  • In-depth piping design knowledge including fittings, flanges, and welding.
  • Mastery in the use of AutoCAD and Plant 3D (release of 2022 or above preferred).
  • High proficiency working with Plant 3D Spec Editor and Navisworks.
  • Experience managing production of drawing sets from creation to modifications.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Efficiency in AutoCAD P&IDs.
  • Experience in Revit.
  • Experience developing and implementing CAD standards.
  • Experience managing CAD & related software vendors.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Bluebeam Studio.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering design projects involving a team of process, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
  • Adhere to and assist in the development of company AutoCAD tools, standards, and practices.
  • Prepare 3D models of plants including equipment, piping, valves, and instrumentation.
  • Incorporate 3D models by contractors or vendors into a master model for construction.
  • Prepare detail drawings including plot plans, general arrangement drawings, isometrics, and electrical drawings.
  • Create and maintain tables associated with drawings such as line lists and equipment lists.
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance of design documents.
  • Participate in design reviews and assist with fabrication and construction activities.
  • Create field redlines of as-built systems and incorporate them into record drawings.
  • Travel as needed, domestically and internationally, to support project teams.
