About The Position

Akkodis is seeking a Senior C++ Developer for a Contract with a client in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain secure, high-performance applications in a Linux environment using modern C++ standards.

Rate Range: $53/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in C++ development, including large-scale enterprise projects.
• Strong expertise in modern C++ (C14/17), Boost, STL libraries, and secure coding practices in Linux environments.
• Experience with relational/document-based databases and developing high-performing RESTful web services with database connectivity; exposure to cloud technologies (Azure) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a large-scale C++ codebase within the Security Development Team, ensuring high performance and security.
• Build and maintain reusable C++ components and libraries for future use and modernization efforts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade client-side libraries and align with modernization initiatives.
• Implement secure coding practices following OWASP and NIST guidelines to develop highly secure applications.
• Optimize application performance and ensure low-latency execution in Linux environments.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and troubleshooting, while mentoring junior developers on best practices.
