You'll develop relationships, negotiate contracts, and work closely with suppliers to maintain inventory levels. You'll maintain a lean inventory, implement cost-saving strategies, and ensure planning data integrity.

Requirements

  • Knowledge - Possess in-depth knowledge of purchasing, procurement, supplier management supply chain management and strategic procurement implementation.
  • Skill - Be able to demonstrate effective negotiation skills and experience collaborating with suppliers.
  • Skill - Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and procurement software tools
  • Skill - Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Managing key supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery of goods and services
  • Leading initiatives to reduce expenses, and developing annual plans for continuous cost reduction improvements with suppliers
  • Developing, maintaining and strengthening supplier relationships through effective contract negotiation, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
  • Ensuring that planning parameters within the procurement software system support lean inventory requirements
  • Mentoring less experienced buyers to ensure they are meeting performance expectations and developing their skills
