About The Position

Swire Coca-Cola is a family-owned bottling company and one of the largest bottlers of Coca-Cola in North America, distributing over 50 beverage brands and flavors to more than 30 million consumers across 13 states. The company employs over 8,000 individuals. A Senior Buyer at Swire Coca-Cola serves as a work and thought leader, offering guidance and training to junior buyers within non-production departments. This role involves overseeing non-production sourcing activities for various internal clients, including IT, Sales & Marketing, and other functions as needed. Key responsibilities include developing sourcing strategies, conducting major negotiations, and managing non-routine activities for U.S. operations. The Senior Buyer is also tasked with identifying and cultivating suppliers capable of meeting current and future non-production requirements, and collaborating with other departments to resolve supply chain issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree business, procurement, supply chain or related field required
  • Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) CIPS Level 3 required
  • 6+ years Procurement required
  • Experience sourcing in non-production commodities
  • Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • SAP Ariba
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Strong executive presence when presenting

Responsibilities

  • Create and release RFPs/RFQs following the 7-step sourcing process and is able to train others on process
  • Understands and is able to train what commodity/project should cost and negotiates to get suppliers to that ideal cost level not just budget level
  • Considers the business’ strategy and priorities during sourcing not just cost targets
  • Understands and tracks key market factors that impact commodity/project costs
  • Source with the client’s needs in mind on time
  • Stay current with market trends for assigned commodities
  • Recommend technological/process opportunities to keep business ahead of competition and improve operations
  • Facilitate communication between internal and external stakeholders related to supplier performance
  • Maintain high level of integrity to ensure all suppliers treated fairly
  • Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate records about pricing history
  • Validate that requested price changes are accurate and include all documentation
  • Performs other duties as assigned
