About The Position

Position Summary / Essential Functions: Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with company cost, quality, and delivery objectives. Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to support business growth and risk mitigation. Lead competitive bidding processes (RFQs/RFPs) and perform cost analysis. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and long-term agreements with suppliers. Monitor market trends, raw material pricing, and supply chain risks. Supplier Management Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure performance expectations are met. Monitor supplier performance in quality, on-time delivery, lead times, and responsiveness. Lead supplier review meetings and drive corrective actions when necessary. Partner with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve supplier-related issues. Inventory & Cost Control Collaborate with Production Scheduling and Inventory Control to balance material availability with inventory targets. Support inventory reduction initiatives while maintaining production continuity. Analyze purchasing data to identify cost savings and process improvements. Lead cost reduction initiatives, value engineering efforts, and alternative sourcing projects. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Production, Engineering, Scheduling, and Customer Service to ensure material alignment with demand forecasts and production schedules. Provide purchasing input for new product introductions and engineering changes. Support Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes as needed. Compliance & Continuous Improvement Ensure purchasing practices comply with company policies and ethical standards. Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, process improvement, cost optimization). Identify and implement process improvements within procurement operations.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and manufacturing operations.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen with cost modeling experience.
  • Ability to assess risk and develop contingency sourcing plans.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of organization and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, data analysis) and other Microsoft Office applications as well as have Intermediate experience with AI tools and applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in MRP is preferred and experience with JD Edwards is a plus.
