About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to lead the procurement of materials, components, and services that support manufacturing operations, product development, and defense-related programs. This role is critical to ensuring supply continuity, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective sourcing in a highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate brings strong negotiation skills, supplier management expertise, and a strategic mindset, paired with hands-on execution in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost analysis
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and results-driven
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • 5–10+ years of procurement or purchasing experience, ideally within manufacturing, defense, or aerospace industries

Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts while maintaining strong supplier relationships
  • Issue and manage purchase orders, monitor delivery schedules, and resolve delays or shortages
  • Partner with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure materials meet specifications and compliance requirements
  • Monitor supplier performance, maintain vendor scorecards, and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Maintain accurate procurement records within ERP and related tracking systems
  • Support cost-reduction, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with ITAR, AS9100, and other applicable defense and aerospace regulations
  • Mentor and support junior purchasing staff, sharing best practices and process guidance
  • Stay informed on market trends, material availability, and supplier capabilities to mitigate risk and optimize sourcing strategies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
