About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to lead the procurement of materials, components, and services that support manufacturing operations, product development, and defense-related programs. This role is critical to ensuring supply continuity, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective sourcing in a highly regulated environment. Requirements

Strong knowledge of sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost analysis
Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and results-driven
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
5–10+ years of procurement or purchasing experience, ideally within manufacturing, defense, or aerospace industries

Responsibilities

Source, evaluate, and select suppliers to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts while maintaining strong supplier relationships
Issue and manage purchase orders, monitor delivery schedules, and resolve delays or shortages
Partner with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure materials meet specifications and compliance requirements
Monitor supplier performance, maintain vendor scorecards, and implement corrective actions as needed
Maintain accurate procurement records within ERP and related tracking systems
Support cost-reduction, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with ITAR, AS9100, and other applicable defense and aerospace regulations
Mentor and support junior purchasing staff, sharing best practices and process guidance
Stay informed on market trends, material availability, and supplier capabilities to mitigate risk and optimize sourcing strategies
Perform other related duties as assigned
