Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and materials laboratory located in Grove City, OH manages the entire life cycle of all our products including supply chain development, research and development, manufacturing, testing and distribution. Summary The Senior Buyer is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or material related discipline.
  • 5 + years purchasing experience preferred.
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Metals/materials knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Good computer skills are required.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Experience with project Management and managing multiple priorities.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as defined by process.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS or NAPM certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of IFS is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiating contracts, purchasing, and expediting deliveries of commodities assigned. This could be direct or indirect materials.
  • Selecting and qualifying vendors on a commercial and technical capability basis.
  • Working internally with engineering and quality to develop specifications and assure technical competencies of suppliers.
  • Rating and managing supplier performance based on quality, delivery, service and price.
  • Work to train new Buyers on effective procedures/techniques.
  • Participating in supplier audits.
  • Understands and adheres to all safety requirements. Communicates identified risks to leadership and assists in resolution.
  • Completes all 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) standards to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Contributes to culture through alignment with company values and code of conduct. Maintains a positive attitude, displays enthusiasm for assigned tasks, and communicates effectively and professionally with team members.
