About The Position

The Senior Buyer is responsible for owning global sourcing strategy, supplier negotiations, and end-to-end procurement execution for specialty industrial materials and engineered components, including neodymium magnets and related products. This role carries direct accountability for cost, quality, delivery, inventory health, and trade compliance across a global supplier base. The Senior Buyer operates as a senior individual contributor with full ownership of supplier relationships, commercial terms, and sourcing decisions, and plays a critical role in protecting margin, ensuring supply continuity, and mitigating global supply chain risk. Direct experience with neodymium magnets is not required; however, candidates must demonstrate success sourcing complex, supply-constrained, or risk-exposed materials in international markets. This is an on-site position in Round Rock Texas. Please do not apply if you are looking for a remote position.

Requirements

5+ years of direct buying or global sourcing experience.
Experience sourcing complex or supply-constrained materials.
Advanced negotiation and contract management skills
Hands-on international logistics and trade compliance experience.
ERP/MRP system proficiency
Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
Cultural competence working with international suppliers

Nice To Haves

Asia/China sourcing experience
Exposure to rare earths, specialty metals, or engineered components.
Experience in tariff-impacted supply chains
Proficiency in additional languages (Spanish and/or Mandarin) is a strong plus

Responsibilities

Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for specialty industrial materials and engineered components.
Lead independent supplier negotiations, including pricing, MOQs, lead times, payment terms, and incoterms.
Execute supplier contracts and commercial agreements with accountability for financial and operational outcomes.
Monitor commodity pricing trends and proactively drive cost-reduction initiatives.
Serve as the primary commercial owner for domestic and international suppliers.
Build and sustain long-term supplier relationships, particularly with Asia-based manufacturers.
Conduct supplier performance reviews and lead corrective actions.
Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers to support supply base diversification.
Own import/export execution with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
Ensure compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations.
Manage inventory strategy, safety stock, and replenishment planning.
Proactively mitigate supply chain risks.
Lead RFQ processes and supplier quoting.
Perform total landed cost analysis including freight, duties, and tariffs.
Partner with Sales, Operations, and Finance to support margin improvement.
