Requirements

  • Requires a Master's degree in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a directly related field.
  • 1 year of experience as a Buyer, Purchasing Specialist, or related occupation.
  • Experience in the agricultural or construction equipment industry.
  • Analyzing reports to identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Conducting market tests and forecasting economic savings performance.
  • Coordinating with global teams and supplier capacity management.
  • Negotiating price reductions and increases.
  • Negotiating, implementing and managing LTAs (long term agreements).
  • Facilitating supplier and engineering VA/VE (Value Analysis and Value Engineering) activities.
  • Tracking, monitoring, and executing hedges.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy and purchase of high complexity production parts for 10 North American manufacturing plants.
  • Set strategic direction for the assigned Chemical commodity.
  • Manage negotiations and help achieve the budget and sourcing.
  • Close campaigns and meet rationalization targets.
  • Forecast and report economic savings performance.
  • Drive price reductions and long term agreements.
  • Conduct market tests and award new business to maximize leverage.
  • Analyze various reports to identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Support special projects to assist in delivering commodity goals.
  • Focus on Commodity Strategy, Benchmarking, Sourcing Council preparations, Technical Cost reductions, Warranty agreements.
  • Manage supplier financial distress and coordinate with global teams and supplier capacity management.
  • Lead and support global sourcing projects by working closely with the global commodity team (EMEA, LATAM, APAC).
  • Support functions for new product launch initiatives while developing and implementing cost reduction and sourcing strategies.
  • Develop and implement supply base management strategies regionally and globally.
  • Drive the selection of suppliers and negotiate and maintain supplier performance.
  • Negotiate, implement and manage LTA's (long term agreements) while achieving commercial savings.
  • Facilitate supplier/engineering VA/VE (Value Analysis and Value Engineering) activities.
  • Provide leadership and develop an understanding of the market for the commodities assigned.
  • Track, monitor, and execute hedges at optimal raw material market conditions.
