The Role As a member of the GM semiconductor purchasing team, you will be part of developing a strong semiconductor supply chain to support our fast-growing electronics & software needs. Specifically, you will be responsible for a particular semicategory category and actively leading the development of commodity strategies, sourcing/negotiations, budget, and execution. You will manage relationships, collaborate with suppliers and internal key stakeholders including engineering, legal, finance, operations and drive cross-functional alignment. Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and a high level of independent judgment. What You’ll Do Develop and execute purchasing strategies based on business, market, and technology trends and establish strong and competitive supply base Responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services Negotiate price, terms, and other items to complete full contract package Optimize supply performance by analyzing and applying appropriate tools including benchmarking, cost and value chain analysis, negotiations, supply chain analysis Work closely with cross functional partners internally and externally to trade off imperatives, identify creative solutions, and gain alignment, incl during RFQ management, change management, Procure to Pay, order fulfillment, and customer satisfaction Drive for winning outcomes that are focused on the mission of the business Develop and manage great supplier relationships Provide pro-active communication and resolution of issues Develop protection of supply and contingency plans
