About The Position

The Senior Buyer is accountable for end-to-end supply execution and commercial management for Infinitum’s domestic contract manufacturing network. This role owns purchase order placement to contract manufacturers (CMs), negotiates pricing and supply agreements as needed, and orchestrates cross-functional stakeholders (Manufacturing, GTM, Engineering, Import/Export, Logistics, Quality) to ensure customer requirements are met. A core component of this role is managing consigned materials from Infinitum’s facility into US-based CMs and ensuring overall CM build readiness, including verification that CMs maintain adequate inventory of CM-purchased components to support the production schedule. The Senior Buyer operates as both a buyer and a program lead—driving disciplined execution, structured communication, and fast issue resolution.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of experience in procurement, contract manufacturing supply management, supply chain execution, or related manufacturing operations roles.
  • Proven track record managing contract manufacturers and executing to production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Strong negotiation experience with suppliers/CMs (pricing, terms, agreements).
  • Systems proficiency with ERP/MRP tools such as NetSuite and/or Plex; strong Excel capability.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams to drive deliverables without direct authority.
  • Strong operational discipline: action tracking, stakeholder alignment, escalation judgment, and follow-through.
  • Clear, concise communicator with the ability to influence at multiple organizational levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in electromechanical assemblies, fans/blowers, motor-integrated products, or related manufacturing categories.
  • Familiarity with PLM tools (Arena preferred) and working within structured ECO processes.
  • Exposure to Mexico manufacturing interfaces and cross-site supply execution (Saltillo ↔ US CM network).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the central coordinator for CM execution across stakeholders: Manufacturing, GTM, Engineering, Import/Export, Logistics, Quality.
  • Own end-to-end order execution from PO placement through shipment readiness, delivery, receiving, and invoice alignment support (as applicable).
  • Create, issue, and manage purchase orders to CMs using NetSuite/Plex, including acknowledgements, schedule updates, pull-ins/push-outs, and past-due recovery.
  • Coordinate with Mexico and US Manufacturing and Logistics to replenish the kanban of Infinitum’s consigned materials, align production readiness, shipment timing, and delivery confirmation.
  • Ensure consigned components manufactured in Mexico are shipped, received, and available at CMs to support the agreed build schedule.
  • Confirm CMs have sufficient inventory of CM-purchased components to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Drive adherence to BOM/spec requirements by ensuring CMs are operating to the latest released documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with CM leadership and key functional contacts.
  • Monitor and manage consigned inventory visibility and execution disciplines required to prevent build disruptions.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions, and supply agreements with CMs as required to support continuity, competitiveness, and scalability.
  • Drive cost improvement opportunities through structured quoting, benchmarking, and negotiation—aligned to business priorities.
  • Establish and run an operating cadence (weekly readiness reviews, action logs, shortage trackers, escalation paths).
  • Apply project management fundamentals (RACI, critical path management, RAID logs, action tracking) to drive closure and protect customer commitments.
  • Coordinate logistics for Infinitum-owned freight of motors into CMs.
  • Partner with Fulfillment to ensure shipment readiness, dock scheduling, documentation accuracy, and exception management.
  • Drive and report performance against top KPIs: OTIF, Cost, and Schedule Adherence.
