About The Position

The position involves working closely with business and technical staff to perform analysis, requirements elicitation, specifications development, documentation, technical writing, and testing as required. The role is responsible for maintaining existing systems and associated responsibilities, developing and publishing business requirements and documentation. It also engages in new and complex project work and mentoring less experienced business systems analysts. The position requires subject matter expertise in one or more business areas and supporting systems/technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or relevant experience; or, Bachelor degree in related business field accompanied with technology or business system specific related experience
  • Minimum 5 years systems analysis or other relevant experience
  • Experience in at least one significant team-oriented systems or business-related project
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, HTML, and authoring tools
  • Experienced application of analysis methodologies including concepts such as entity-relationship
  • Mastery at modeling techniques (e.g., data modeling, process modeling) and tools as required
  • Experience with SQL and/or other tools to exploit database technologies and information gathering

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Business, Business Analysts, Developers and QA Analysts to understand business needs and requirements, and translate into test scenarios when appropriate
  • Adhere to and advance departmental standards (designs, specifications, testing, documentation, incident reporting, Project Management Methodology, etc.)
  • Maintain and advance a current understanding of analytical and design techniques and project methodology appropriate to this position
  • Determine and document business objectives; translate business objectives into published system specifications; ensure business requirements are testable
  • Lead the collaboration with others to publish design specifications using professionally accepted modeling tools
  • Develop and maintain optimized database, program, and script specifications
  • Work with QA Analysts to develop, maintain and publish test specifications, which may include preparation of test data and test scripts
  • Create and maintain documentation for end-users and support personnel
  • Document new work requests and estimate work effort and duration of work to complete Service Requests and/or more complex project initiatives
  • Execute the SDLC process, with specific detail towards requirement gathering, testing and submission of operational change
