Under limited supervision, but according to specific instructions and established procedures. The Business Intelligence (BI) Senior Report Developer is responsible for providing timely and accurate data to internal as well as external customers. Responsibilities include ensuring projects contain information required to create in-depth analytics that contribute towards informed decisions regarding care and fiscally responsible management of all populations of the organization it serves. Designs and processes projects related to their area of expertise; they may also be required to perform in other areas as deemed necessary. Responsibilities also include managing data requests for large projects as needed with in-depth knowledge of reporting tools to insure data integrity. Possesses and maintains a broad knowledge of information technology (IT) systems and applications that support Business Intelligence functions. Additionally, possesses and maintains a general knowledge of all reports that are provided to the organization not only within the department, but from specific IT applications as well. Creates and analyzes reports created using various reporting mechanisms. Keeps leadership advised of outstanding issues. Uses analytical skill and experiences to investigate/resolve and/or escalate support issues. Conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are necessary. Effective time management. Has the ability to maintain and keep clearly defined documentation of projects and requests. Collects and organizes detailed information. Able to provide meaningful contributions to meetings. Works well with other members of a team. Willing to learn computer programs and applications necessary for data collection. Willing to make independent and timely decisions when circumstances warrant. Continuously searches for opportunities of automating manual processes and developing on-demand tools for descriptive data. Possesses the ability to deal effectively with personnel, regulatory agencies, and the general public. Ability to conceptualize the abstract. Able to collect and organize detailed information. Have patience, tact, and cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as willingness to handle difficult situations. Willing to seek out new information and knowledge and be willing to embrace new responsibilities and change.

  • 2 to 3 years previous experience commensurate with area of responsibility preferred.
  • Experience with computerized data retrieval tools is required.
  • EPIC Data Model Certification in specified application required within the first year of employment.
