About The Position

As a Senior Business Intelligence Associate, you will contribute to Alma's mission by analyzing, designing, building, and growing reporting and insights to drive transformative change for the Marketing teams. The ideal candidate is AI-first, deeply data-driven, and proficient in Marketing concepts like CAC, Channel Attribution, and Conversion Funnels. You will support the Data team's vision by transforming raw data into reliable, accessible assets, driving insights, and enabling strategic business decisions. Responsibilities include creating accurate, accessible, understandable, and impactful data models and reporting to consolidate reporting from manual processes to centralized, on-demand sources. This role requires providing data-driven solutions to complex business questions, translating diverse data into actionable insights, and working cross-functionally with Data Engineering and other business teams.

Requirements

  • You have 2-5 years of experience working in data analytics or BI, preferably used to embracing change in a high-growth start up environment
  • You are an expert in SQL and have working experience with dbt, as you will use both of these daily.
  • You have experience working with a BI Tools (like Tableau, Looker, Lightdash or equivalent). You are exploring and leveraging AI to accelerate your workflows.
  • You have experience with Marketing specific KPIs and platforms for campaign performance tracking and web analytics
  • You are naturally curious and a self-starter who makes a habit of asking questions and solving ambiguous problems by analyzing and using data with great attention to detail
  • You can communicate complex concepts to a variety of stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain interactive reports and dashboards and develop data models in dbt from multiple data sources
  • Analyze historical data to create impactful insights and provide actionable recommendations to key priorities for stakeholders at all levels
  • Develop a deep understanding of Alma’s business and data to empower more effective decisions. Be the expert on where to find data to solve business challenges in your domain.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for increased efficiency in current processes
  • Support and execute the BI team’s mission and strategy
  • Act as a liaison for data between the business and Engineering to help advocate for and prioritize improvements in our data capabilities
