About The Position

The Senior Business Development Officer (SBDO), Live Oak Express (LOE) plays a pivotal role in expanding our small dollar loan program, which offers loans ranging from $10,000 to $500,000 to small business owners seeking fast and flexible funding solutions. This position is crucial in building and nurturing relationships with brokers, establishing strategic partnerships, and cross-selling to existing clients within Live Oak Bank's lending ecosystem. By driving these initiatives, the SBDO directly contributes to the growth and success of our clients and the bank.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or financial services, with a focus on loan products or small business financing.
  • Proven track record of building and managing partnerships that drive business growth.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with loan brokers and other intermediaries to expand the reach of the Live Oak Express program.
  • Develop strategic partnerships to enhance loan origination channels and drive business growth.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for cross-selling Live Oak Express loans to existing clients across various verticals.
  • Educate current borrowers on the benefits and features of the Live Oak Express loan offerings to meet their evolving financial needs.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship management.
  • Utilize CRM tools to track leads, monitor progress, and ensure timely follow-up and conversion.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, assess competitive landscapes, and uncover new business opportunities.
  • Analyze market shifts and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including underwriting, marketing, and product development teams, to ensure alignment and support for business development initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
