About The Position

Spectrolab, Inc, a Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) subsidiary, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Development Manager (Level L) to join Spectrolab in Sylmar, CA! This role will act as the Director of Business Development (BD) within Spectrolab. Strong communication and organizational skills are critical to success in this position, along with the ability to build strong relationships, collaborate in a cross-functional environment, and utilize problem-solving skills to proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience in preparing and presenting executive level briefings
  • Able to travel both domestically and internationally
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in Space/Satellite systems
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher

Responsibilities

  • Builds and maintains trusted customer relationships and broad networks, uses deep customer and competitor knowledge to identify opportunities and inform strategy.
  • Develops leads and shapes requests for proposals (RFP) with customer in advance of RFP.
  • Leads design and negotiation of customer deals, advocating customer requirements and securing quality, mutually beneficial commitments.
  • Develop and support the Long Range Business Plan (LRBP) both in forecasting and execution
  • Develops and executes campaign strategies, secures resources and management buy-in, monitors metrics, campaign statuses, and budgets.
  • Develop strategies and product offerings to enable competitive, margin-acceptable proposals; reviews scope and cost for compliance and competitiveness.
  • Work with engineering team on technology strategy and customer onboarding strategies
  • Manage and mentor staff
