This individual will serve a key function in managing the preparation of proposals and presentations, researching business development opportunities and marketing event support for projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work and collaborate with Langan’s employees and leadership as well as architects, contractors, developers, attorneys and other consultants to drive the firm’s growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Design Engineering, Environmental Services, or a related field such as engineering or environmental sciences; Graduate degree preferred;
  • 10+ years of experience in sales, marketing or business development in the architectural, engineering, construction or real estate industry;
  • Strong project management background;
  • In-depth knowledge of and involvement in marketing and strategic business development;
  • Superior interpersonal skills and persuasive presentation skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; Adobe Acrobat/Reader, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator;
  • Active participation in local professional organizations;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; and
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment with multiple deadlines.

  • Established networks and contacts in the A/E/C sector with corporate clients is preferred;

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, qualifies and secures business opportunities by cultivating and maintaining mutually beneficial business relationships with current and potential clients that can help strengthen and achieve the firm’s business goals and objectives;
  • Identifies and proposes potential business opportunities by keeping track of market intelligence in the industry;
  • Follows up with contracts made at events and provides technical leaders with contact information to develop and manage external relationships that can help strengthen and achieve the firm’s business goals and objectives;
  • Collaborates with project managers and technical leaders to learn about ongoing projects and research appropriate events for company participation to assist in the expansion of business through increased event base;
  • Strategizes with technical leaders regarding pursuing various proposal opportunities;
  • Identifies and coordinates client-focused professional organizations and events to be sponsored or attended by staff;
  • Develops and executes comprehensive marketing plans and programs in support of business development;
  • Prepares, researches, and writes compliant, persuasive text for proposals and qualification packages;
  • Tracks activities to quantitative and qualitative metrics can be applied to business development practice and objectives;
  • Performs other duties as requested.
