About The Position

SAIC is seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Leader to spearhead growth initiatives for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and other key defense agencies including DARPA, DCSA, DTRA, the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW), and the Joint Staff. This pivotal leadership role is situated within SAIC’s Air Force, Space, and Intelligence (AFSI) Business Group (BG) and is dedicated to delivering advanced, mission-aligned solutions across the Defense Agencies and Joint Missions (DAJM) Account. DISA's vital mission involves providing secure IT and communications support to top defense leadership and combatant commands. The selected leader will directly contribute to national security programs by leveraging SAIC’s extensive capabilities to tackle complex challenges in defense IT and communications. This is a senior leadership position focused on cultivating new opportunities, managing a robust pipeline, and building strong relationships within DISA and the DAJM Account, ultimately shaping the future of defense IT, cybersecurity, and communications solutions while achieving SAIC’s growth objectives. The position is designated as flexwork with approximately 25% travel. SAIC is a Fortune 500 mission integrator, providing secure high-end solutions in mission IT, enterprise IT, engineering, and professional services across defense, space, civilian, and intelligence markets. The company has approximately 24,000 employees and annual revenues of about $7.5 billion, headquartered in Reston, Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a growth strategy tailored to DISA, as well as the broader DAJM portfolio, including the agencies identified above.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership at DISA and across these agencies to position SAIC as the premier partner for innovative, mission-driven solutions.
  • Drive the identification, qualification, and management of a robust pipeline of opportunities supporting DISA and the listed agencies, ensuring alignment with SAIC’s vision and expertise.
  • Partner with operational leadership, Capture Managers, and technical SMEs to develop and execute winning pursuits aligned with both customer needs and SAIC capabilities.
  • Lead the development of teaming agreements and strategic partnerships to enhance SAIC’s competitiveness across DISA and DAJM customers.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities aligned with the strategic needs of DISA and the DAJM portfolio agencies, including the agencies identified above.
  • Collaborate extensively with SAIC’s operational and technical experts to define innovative solutions for IT modernization, cybersecurity, cloud transformation, and resilient communications infrastructure.
  • Build and leverage trusted relationships with agency leaders and key decision-makers to position SAIC as a valued partner for mission-critical outcomes.
  • Guide SAIC’s approach to opportunity identification, competitive assessments, and price-to-win strategies, ensuring alignment with DISA priorities and unique customer challenges.
  • Oversee the development of proposal strategies and win themes tailored to the specific needs of DISA and related DAJM accounts.
  • Serve as a key participant in senior-level reviews, strategic planning sessions, and customer engagement efforts, delivering actionable recommendations and insights.
  • Gather, assess, and validate customer requirements working closely with Capture and Program Managers -- identifying related needs and constraints that impact winning solution
  • Assess probable competition and evaluates relative strengths and threats – conducts or assists with black-hats, competitive scenarios, etc.
  • Participates in gate reviews, pricing, teaming, and capture reviews
