About The Position

The Senior Business Development Associate is responsible for retaining, securing, and growing retail revenues by marketing natural gas and other energy-related products and services. This role involves working collaboratively with field sales and the Customer Energy Solutions team to enhance customer relationships and meet sales goals while delivering exceptional customer service. It is a non-commissioned inside sales position focused on lead management and customer engagement.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree preferred and/or 3 years related business experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and telephone skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Solid problem-solving, organization, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Ability to learn and retain product-specific information.
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented.
  • Customer Service and/or Call Center background preferred.
  • Familiarity with Customer Relations Management (CRM) tools, such as Salesforce, is a plus; proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Retain, secure, and grow retail revenues by marketing gas and energy-related products to assigned market sectors.
  • Qualify and process new leads from various sources, including email and phone inquiries.
  • Manage leads by tracking, following up, and maintaining communication with sales prospects.
  • Determine customer requirements to recommend specific products and solutions, increasing sales through cross-selling and up-selling.
  • Process incoming data and maintain accurate information in the company's CRM tool and database system.
  • Collaborate with outside field sales and Customer Energy Solutions team members to meet sales goals and enhance customer experience.
  • Assist in developing sales proposals, contracts, and customer communications.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries and directing customers to appropriate resources.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the company's product offerings and industry trends.
  • Support marketing efforts, including mass mailings and trade shows, and coordinate Energy Efficiency programs.
