Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business banking, commercial banking, or relationship management
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of cash flow analysis, business credit underwriting, and loan structuring
  • Experience developing new business relationships within the small to midsized business segment
  • Ability to manage complex commercial relationships and recommend appropriate loan and deposit solutions
  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated business acumen across a range of industries, markets, and economic conditions
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with credit, underwriting, treasury, and internal banking partners
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and pipeline management practices
  • Established ability to generate business without relying on an inherited portfolio

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow a portfolio of small to midsized business clients through direct business development activity
  • Make retention and prospecting calls to existing and prospective customers
  • Build and maintain an active pipeline of opportunities and centers of influence
  • Interview applicants, gather required documentation, and recommend appropriate lending solutions
  • Structure credit requests and submit complete packages for underwriting and approval
  • Review loan documentation for completeness and accuracy in accordance with approved terms
  • Coordinate and attend loan closings
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities across deposits, treasury services, credit, and other bank products
  • Act as a financial advisor by educating clients on business banking strategies, credit needs, market conditions, and related financial solutions
  • Monitor client activity, market trends, and evolving business needs to uncover additional opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments to deliver a high-quality client experience and help close new relationships efficiently
  • Contribute to regional growth initiatives and support broader market development efforts
