The Senior Business Analyst will support the rapid growth of the devices
business by developing key business metrics, analyzing and improving
transportation strategies, and partnering with internal stakeholders to drive
the business. In this role, the candidate will be focused on highly analytical
and strategic projects driving results for Amazon Devices worldwide.

This role is seated in Seattle, WA

This position requires high judgement, excellent analytical abilities and a
creative mind to invent solutions to existing problems. It also offers broad
exposure to various business, operational, financial, and technical teams across

Requirements

• Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
• Experience with Excel
• Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
• Experience with SQL
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of SQL, ETL or Oracle experience
• 3+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience
• 3+ years of experience developing automated reporting using advanced MS Excel skills including macros and erlang knowledge.

• Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field and three years of experience in the job offered or as a Business Analyst, Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Engineer, Data Miner or a related occupation.

Responsibilities

• Support senior management by managing metrics reporting and performing data mining and big data analysis to provide strategic advice on business strategy.
• Collect business use cases, research and evaluate opportunities to help Amazon Devices leverage its data to support business functions through complicated mathematical modeling. Analyze forecast and metrics data.
• Automate reports for promotional and project launch campaigns. Utilize database technologies, including SQL, ETL, and Oracle to design, develop, and evaluate highly innovative business intelligence tools and automated reports for campaign targeting and optimization.
• Transform complicated business problems into mathematics modeling and provide data-driven solutions. Perform statistical analysis, including clustering, cross-session and panel data regression using R, SAS, STATA, and SPSS. Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses, model development, model validation, and model implementation.
• Identify the necessary metrics to increase understanding of the business, proactively identifying pain points or opportunities through systemic measurement.
• Present qualitative and quantitative analysis to key stakeholders by blending advanced reporting and project management skills.
• Retrieve and analyze data using Excel, SQL and other data management systems. Partner with Analytics teams for complex data sets.
• Monitor existing metrics, analyzing data and partnering with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities.
• Support cross-functional teams on the day-to-day execution of the existing program implementation.
• Drive medium to large operational enhancement projects.
