The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for providing day-to-day procedural guidance to current management and office software applications, as well as implementation support for new software applications. This role oversees software utilization requirements, and the development, testing, and implementation of new features, while maintaining business systems data integrity. The Senior Business Analyst acts as a mentor and assists in the training of less experienced staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Five (5) or more years of related work experience in Information Technology, Accounting, or Auditing.
  • Insurance industry experience preferred.
  • Appropriate licensing.

Responsibilities

  • Leads special projects that involve small teams across various departments under limited supervision.
  • Assists management in brainstorming, providing recommendations, and potential solutions to global, complex business issues.
  • Gathers data, analyzes requirements and documents specifications for new system processes and enhancements.
  • Identifies and researches system problems for root cause and provides sound business solutions for complex issues.
  • Works closely with customers, business managers, and application programmers to define future system needs.
  • Builds thorough test plans and conducts system tests to verify that the system and screens contain accurate information; identifies and resolves problems where appropriate.
  • Reviews and analyzes user requests for business system enhancements and determines the long and short term impact on workflow, reporting, and programming requirements.
  • Acts as a resource to provide guidance to system users and/or application programmers.
  • Trains and acts as a mentor for users in proper utilization of business systems, including providing written procedures.
  • Acts as liaison between internal and external customers, system users, and Information Technology staff.
  • Works directly with application programmers to define the steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
  • Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity.
