About The Position

The Business Analyst position at PSEG Long Island is responsible for aligning business systems with user needs, particularly in the HR/payroll domain. This role involves documenting requirements, establishing objectives, and determining strategies for implementing systems to achieve business goals. The analyst will work closely with various business functions to ensure customer satisfaction and will be the SAP Business Analyst, utilizing in-depth knowledge to evaluate data and inform business decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or a related technical field.
  • 4 or more years of HRM systems experience with at least 2 years related work experience with the SAP suite of products.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities through projects or other work planning experiences.
  • Understanding of IT project management methodologies, requirements management, quality assurance, and IT processes.
  • Broad knowledge of the business area's functions and applications, and of system and technology alternatives.
  • Experience managing outsourced vendors within the information technology field.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR and Payroll Services functions, applications, and system & technology alternatives.

Responsibilities

  • Work with HR/payroll clients, support and development teams to provide subject matter expertise in the day-to-day support of the HR/payroll business area.
  • Collaborate with support team members and suppliers to ensure client expectations are met regarding system reliability and minor modifications.
  • Provide analytical conclusions and support recommended actions with clarity for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support the Disaster Recovery (DR) Process for SAP systems, focusing on HR/payroll functions, including updating the DR plan and supporting periodic testing.
  • Monitor and execute IT SOX controls and collaborate with internal and external auditors.
  • Coordinate planned outages for systems in the area of accountability with the Lines of Business and IT.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth technical and business knowledge of HR/payroll processes to ensure efficient design and implementation of solutions.
  • Identify, analyze, and convey business requirements into functional specifications and technical design documents.
  • Provide application and solutions consulting for SAP HR/Payroll in various areas including Personnel Management and Payroll Accounting.
  • Work with training teams to develop and deliver user training curriculum.
  • Create meaningful analyses, reports, and present findings while ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Support business requests for year-end audits and provide assistance for internal audits.
