About The Position
The Senior Business Analyst is a pivotal role within AF Group, primarily responsible for ensuring that all business requirements are meticulously documented and that every functional and business consideration is thoroughly identified prior to the implementation of each project. This position requires a deep understanding of the client's needs and the ability to confirm these with both the client and internal departments before finalizing functional requirements. The Senior Business Analyst is expected to suggest alternative approaches where feasible, ensuring that innovative solutions and best practices are explored for the most common use cases. In addition to documenting functional requirements, the Senior Business Analyst serves as a consultant to various business units and technical teams, providing detailed insights into data availability, location, lineage, and quality. This role operates within the Development Life Cycle, ensuring that project delivery aligns with established timelines. The Senior Business Analyst coordinates with stakeholders to define go-live activities, tracks progress, performs follow-up communications, and documents resolutions to maintain project timelines. They analyze potential impacts on the schedule due to requested changes and make necessary updates to the project timeline as required. The role also involves developing and executing presentations, preparing documentation for workgroup meetings, and facilitating both in-person and online meetings to orient new clients, collaborate with stakeholders, and address any concerns. Working closely with the project manager, the Senior Business Analyst helps manage the project plan by providing tasks, dates, and resource responsibilities based on the project scope. They are responsible for creating functional specifications by collecting, understanding, and transmitting business requirements, which are then translated into functional specifications, database designs, and detailed test plans. Furthermore, the Senior Business Analyst partners with clients to gather comprehensive requirements, formulates business process specifications, and translates these into application and operational functionality. They work with technical staff to assist in translating application functionality into architecture and produce system functionality documents. This role also involves communicating business directives, goals, and needs to both the technical and operational teams, ensuring that user expectations and client satisfaction are effectively managed. The Senior Business Analyst is expected to manage the development life cycle, create or update project documentation, and represent the business as a subject matter expert in designated work streams. They also collaborate with the product team to stay informed about overall product strategy, roadmaps, and release management processes.
