About The Position

Total Wine & More is seeking an accomplished Senior Business Analyst to join our Technology team in our Bethesda, MD office. This role supports gathering requirements, planning, and implementation of Marketing and Customer Technology solutions. Our purpose is to support and drive technology changes that enables the Marketing and Operational teams to optimize the personalized experience which enhances the customer journey. We are looking for an Analyst who has a natural curiosity and desire to solve problems with technology as we transform the technological landscape around loyalty, promotions, and personalization. You will be able to apply your skills and knowledge of marketing and technology trends to partner with business teams to evaluate and develop solutions that evolve our technological landscape (Martech) to help deliver personalized offers to customers. You'll also need to be equally comfortable talking to developers and engineers in our technology teams as you will be communicating with internal and external partners. The Analyst should be comfortable in an Agile environment and familiar with all phases of the software development lifecycle. You will report to the Senior Product Manager of Marketing Systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in Business, Computer Science, Technology or related field.
  • 5+ years of business analysis and requirements gathering experience for one or more software project(s).
  • 5+ years of experience with Retail Systems, Loyalty, Promotions or Pricing Applications, MarTech, Talon.One, Qualtrics, and/or Oracle applications.
  • Knowledge of and experience with agile methodologies (Specifically Scrum and Kanban) is a plus.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL is preferred.
  • Prior experience with a retail organization in an IT/Business support role is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience with offer management, Promotions or Marketing Campaign Automation is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Write, communicate, and validate detailed user stories with functional and non-functional requirements, as well as documenting processes in Confluence.
  • Ad hoc reporting via BigQuery and visualizations using PowerBI in order to validate the tools or processes that have been implemented.
  • Identify opportunities, risks, constraints, and dependencies in collaboration with the scrum team to prioritize and help refine user stories.
  • Define alerting and reporting requirements.
  • Own as well as develop relationships with our partners by working with them to optimize and enhance our integrations.
  • Help design, document, and maintain system processes.
  • Report on common sources of technical issues or questions in order to make recommendations to Marketing Systems team.
  • Summarize and define complex technical solutions, enhancements, configurations into non-technical language to communicate to stakeholders and partners.
  • Work with Development, QA, and Production Support teams to communicate, verify, and test the desired functionality changes.
  • Make decisions that drive business value and align to technology best practices.
