About The Position

We are looking for a talented individual… To join our team as a Senior Building Systems Engineer! This role will support the development and delivery of energy efficiency programs by performing engineering calculations, building energy simulations, and measurement and verification (M&V). This role leads technical strategy, analyzes energy savings opportunities, and develops reports and documentation for client programs. The engineer also provides technical oversight, quality assurance, and project updates to internal teams and customers. Candidate must reside in Illinois or Indiana for travel within the territory.

Requirements

• 4 + years of experience in energy engineering, M&V, building systems, or related engineering fields
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Mechanical, Electrical, or related)

Nice To Haves

• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; EIT or ability to obtain PE a plus
• Familiarity with energy efficiency, building systems, HVAC, or commercial/industrial facility engineering

Responsibilities

• Calculate energy savings using engineering principles such as thermodynamics, fan laws, mechanics, and building physics.
• Identify, qualify, and manage custom energy efficiency and M&V projects.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of energy savings calculators and measure configurations.
• Conduct ASHRAE Level II audits for large commercial and industrial facilities and prepare IPMVP‑compliant M&V plans and reports.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor, providing guidance and training to internal teams on custom and M&V project best practices.
• Act as a subject matter expert in multiple technical areas and author workpapers for new energy efficiency measures.
• Review and provide technical feedback for regulatory filings, commission documents, and program evaluations.
• Develop project scopes and support engineering management on high‑priority projects.
• Collaborate with clients and evaluators to resolve technical issues and ensure successful project outcomes.
