Our Seattle office is looking for a senior-level engineer/architect/construction professional to join our Building Enclosure consulting practice. You will work with our local office leaders and Facilities technical professionals from around the US to deliver necessary services in this market. Requirements

  • 10+ years' of experience in building enclosure consulting.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), or California Registered Architect (RA) required.
  • B.S. in Engineering, B.S. in Architectural Engineering, or Bachelor of Architecture are required.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.

  • Credentials such as CEM, Cx, RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC a plus.
  • Local market familiarity and awareness.
  • Past or current client connectivity and relationships.
  • History of local market engagement via trade, client or technical organizations.
  • Ability to market and develop consulting service opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide architectural and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients.
  • Perform and/or lead field investigations, architectural/engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations.
  • Design and develop plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and write, prepare, and review related reports.
  • Review drawings and construction to assure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Prepare proposals for services, track and evaluate project progress, budgets, and recommend changes.
  • Research and resolve design and construction problems.
  • Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports.
  • Apply sound architectural/engineering principles and communicate complex issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients.
  • Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines.
  • Responsible for continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects.
  • Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk.
  • Engage with local Terracon office leaders and be a Facilities service representative.
  • Work with existing clients to obtain additional work and develop new clients.
  • Manage or consult on facility consulting projects providing leadership and expertise to internal and external project teams.
  • Participate on and lead teams in the performance of building diagnostics projects.
  • Develop and/or review design construction documents related to rehabilitation or remedial building system projects.
  • Full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating engineering/architectural assignments.
  • Peer review construction documents, protocols, Scopes of Work, and other similar documents.
  • Perform and/or direct field testing and investigations for the diagnosis of building system issues.
  • Prepare and write reports that are professional in language with a logical presentation of technical ideas and recommendations.
  • Drive business with new and existing clients and actively participate in the implementation of marketing and client development strategies.
  • Prepare proposals, develop scope of services, establish fees, manage projects from personnel, financial and schedule standpoint.
  • Supervise and mentor less experienced Facilities division professionals.
  • Participate in one or more technical/professional associations and assume leadership positions.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to provide/receive constructive feedback.
  • Possess a growth mindset and understand that learning is a two-way street.
  • Possess agility to jump between multiple projects, tasks, and priorities.
  • Possess excellent time management skills.
  • Serve as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
