About The Position

This position is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and performing complex budgetary and financial operations. It oversees the formulation of budget requests and operating budgets, works closely with program directors to assess and address budgetary needs, and manages assigned operating budgets. The role includes completing surveys and studies to determine state agency fiscal requirements for assigned divisions, conducting research on legislation, and preparing fiscal information for legislative appropriation and substantive bills. Additionally, it involves accumulating and analyzing various budgetary, income, and expenditure data to prepare budget-to-actual and other financial reports, as well as maintaining data on budgetary systems and financial programs for assigned programs and divisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, public administration or a closely related field
  • Five years of experience in professional accounting or auditing or closely related work, including two years in a supervisory or administrative capacity
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one additional year of professional accounting or auditing experience for each year of the required education.
  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.

  • Knowledge of statewide accounting manual and Oklahoma State Finance Act; legislative and budget request process
  • Computer Skills – Employee must be capable of proficiently using standard software to include Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and Teams.
  • High level of organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
