About The Position

HNTB's North Florida CEI Practice is looking for a Senior Bridge Inspector for its Shands Bridge Replacement Project. The work is scaling up and HNTB is looking for the right individual with experience in deep foundations, bridge substructure and superstructure operatoins. The project has five (5) years to go and the right individual will have long term job security and gain unmatched experience on the largest structural project in NE Florida in decades. This opportunity entails being responsible for providing daily inspection of multiple, complex activities within the bridge operations performed by the contractor in order to monitor the project compliance with plans, specifications and other contract provisions. Maintains daily logs of inspection work which is assigned and reviews discrepancies or changes with the project engineer.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 6 years of construction related experience.
  • All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements
  • A strong bridge background and ability to work closely in a collaborative environment on a high functioning team.

  • CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
  • CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level II (Bridges)
  • CTQP Asphalt Paving Level I
  • CTQP Asphalt Paving Level II
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I (ECI I)
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II (ECI II)
  • CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
  • CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection
  • CTQP Final Estimates Level I
  • FDOT Intermediate MOT
  • Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors

  • Qualified Grouting Technician Level I
  • CTQP Post-Tensioning Technician Level I

Responsibilities

  • Inspects, observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with project schedule, contract documents, and plans.
  • Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications.
  • Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform complicated mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date.
  • Maintains Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contactor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
  • Performs on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
