About The Position

AECOM is seeking a candidate for the position of Senior Bridge Design Project Engineer V - Rail Bridge Lead in the growing Transportation Engineering Group in Chicago, Illinois. Specifics of the role include coordinating and providing technical expertise for mid- large-size projects, with a strong emphasis on railway bridge design and deliveries. The role involves leading technical client relationships, playing a major role in selling, and leading discipline department efforts to grow technical expertise. The candidate will also provide specialized technical input to studies and design, approve and sign off on work, and provide estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large, complex projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Ability to pass MVR check.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years' experience in bridge design.
  • Extensive project design experience with railway system bridges and related structures.
  • Project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
  • Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software).
  • Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable Codes.
  • Knowledge of current structural modeling software tools.
  • A current PE license. SE License highly preferred.
