About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno is looking for a Senior Brand & Graphic Designer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and would like to join an innovative marketing team to promote a growing R1 University. The Senior Brand & Graphic Designer serves as the primary visual steward and technical subject matter expert for the University’s visual identity systems. Reporting to the Director of Creative Services, this position functions as a strategic hybrid of high-level brand governance and multi-channel design execution, directly influencing the institution's public image across all constituent groups. The role carries significant creative autonomy and is responsible for translating complex brand architectures into a cohesive ecosystem encompassing print, digital, and environmental touchpoints. A primary focus involves the development and management of scalable design systems and templates that empower decentralized campus units while maintaining strict brand integrity. This position requires a high level of conceptual complexity, as it must balance immediate production needs with the long-term protection of university brand equity during and after major rebranding initiatives. Ultimately, this role acts as the critical barrier between unified institutional clarity and visual fragmentation across the university landscape.

  • Related experience: Professional graphic design experience, with documented portfolio demonstrating work across print, digital, and environmental platforms and experience in brand design and managing identity systems, or related.

  • Proven experience building and deploying scalable, user-friendly templates for non-designers using platforms such as Canva, Adobe Express, or Microsoft PowerPoint.
