About The Position

This individual will play a pivotal role in building, managing and championing the VyStar brand through consistent and inspiring creative solutions and design. This individual will bring the VyStar brand to life and keep it consistent across all our various touch points for members and the community, as well as helping manage our internal resources and agency partners in the delivery of projects. The position requires in-depth knowledge of graphic design styles and layout techniques. They should have strong collaborative experience in executing marketing projects from creative briefing and conception to development and production, including digital/website, photography, animation/video, print and collateral.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, Graphic Design, Advertising, or Visual Communications, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of work-related experience as a brand designer, graphic designer, or art/design director considered in lieu of degree requirements.
  • 2+ years overseeing others (direct reports, contractors or agency partners) in the execution of creative work for projects
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative excellence, brand strategy and development as well as design craft and discipline
  • Expert knowledge of traditional and modern graphic design techniques and styles; capable of implementing visual paradigms effectively
  • Expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Adobe Express; experience with Adobe Workfront or other similar project management tools
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects/Premiere Pro for animation/VFX work
  • Experience working with multiple strategic partners and developing co-branded design work and/or assets that balance guidelines from two or more partner organizations
  • Passion for design fundamentals such as typography, composition, and how graphic design can be most effective in communicating ideas, big and small, in multiple channels
  • A sense of curiosity to identify creative opportunities even if a formal brief doesn’t exist yet
  • Ability to quickly iterate through design details and communicate ideas concisely with designers, other leads and directors
  • Ability to present creative work within the context of our brand strategy, craft a compelling visual story and “sell” design solution across all audiences from C-Suite to front-line staff
  • Demonstrate experience of proactively managing delivery timelines and communicating updates/changes.
  • Professional attitude and an ability to take constructive criticism
  • Comfortable collaborating with a broad range of disciplines and not afraid to bring every stakeholder into the process to help craft the best possible final product
  • Demonstrated experience successfully working with a cross-disciplinary design team; experience working within a creative or ad agency environment

Responsibilities

  • Drive consistent application and expression of the VyStar brand identity and standards throughout the organization across communications, sponsorships, product marketing, community engagement, social media and across all marketing channels and platforms.
  • Conduct quarterly brand and communications audits with internal and agency partners
  • Manage VyStar’s visual brand architecture including corporate level branding, products and sub-brands (business units).
  • Leverage the brand’s visual system to communicate concepts in a compelling way while building brand equity.
  • Manage all creative design, from concept to delivery, including prioritizing work, reviewing and clarifying creative briefs, building and presenting concepts to stakeholders, and soliciting and incorporating feedback to finalize executions within agreed upon timelines and budget.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and create design solutions that elevate the VyStar brand throughout all touchpoints – products, retail branches, advertising, employee communications, events, social media, digital marketing, self-service templates and more.
  • Manage external agencies, vendors, freelancers and appropriately allocate resources to projects to ensure seamless execution of all design projects.
  • Manage VyStar’s digital asset manager (DAM), hosted in Adobe Experience Manager for managing all brands, marketing and creative assets and templates.
  • Champion, educate and train employees, leaders, and partners on VyStar’s brand identity and standards so that they consistently apply in their own work. Proactive in socializing and auditing brand standards as appropriate.
  • Generate ideas to portray concepts and support marketing of brands, products, strategic partnerships and services.
  • Stay current with industry development and tools, in particular demonstrating experience of integrating AI into workflows.
