Senior Brand Accountant Finance | Shelton, CT Reports to: Senior Manager, Brand Accounting Role Overview The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of assigned business areas, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in the entire accounting process. The potential candidate must be passionate about a career in accounting and requires a strong understanding of accounting practices, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP)
• Good understanding of financial concepts (P&L, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet analysis) and experience in data analytics skills
• Result-oriented team player and able to work in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent analytical skills with a high level of integrity
• Strong sense of responsibility, self-starter, well organized, able to work independently and under pressure with tight deadlines
• Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule during monthly and year-end closings
• Advanced Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.) skills
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice To Haves

• CPA or Master’s degree a plus
• Experience with SAP a plus

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the timely financial closing process for month-end and year-end closes and ensuring compliance with IFRS & Group guidelines
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and resolve accounting-related issues
• Handle fixed asset accounting which includes creating, maintaining, and monitoring related CAPEX reporting
• Review applicable lease agreements for key information and accounting
• Responsible for reviewing and analyzing the trial balance for assigned business area(s) and providing commentary for variances if necessary
• Oversee and perform general ledger reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are accurately maintained
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and prepayments
• Support process improvement projects in line with the business needs to ensure internal controls compliance
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary supporting schedules and documentation
• Support and participate in ad-hoc accounting projects
