Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor's degree in a Life Science or Engineering field is a plus.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in downstream biomanufacturing or purification in a GMP environment is highly preferred.
  • Proven practical expertise in column packing techniques and operation of chromatography skids is essential for success in this role.
  • Strong general base knowledge of downstream purification principles (e.g., filtration, TFF, UF/DF) and an in-depth working knowledge of cGMP/GDP and quality systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex purification equipment and processes, combined with excellent communication and mentorship skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of complex downstream purification unit operations, including chromatography and filtration (e.g., UF/DF systems).
  • Expertly perform and document column packing procedures for various resin types to ensure optimal performance for large-scale campaigns.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues within the purification suite, initiating deviations and working cross-functionally to resolve them quickly.
  • Demonstrate mastery of cGMP/GDP standards while executing and reviewing batch records and maintaining audit-readiness.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior associates on purification techniques and process theory.
  • Set up, operate, monitor, and clean large-scale purification skids and associated equipment.
  • Participate in tech transfer activities and continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing downstream process efficiency.
