At CESO, Senior (Sr) Biologist will plan and perform environmental work in support of projects in the markets which CESO serves. This position requires the ability to lead field surveys and sampling efforts and involves ability to work with engineers for design of complex wetland mitigation and stream restoration projects. Additionally, the Sr Biologist will prepare technically sound reports requiring little direction from senior technical personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Geology, Environmental Science, or similar environmental discipline is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in the markets in which CESO operates is required; Master’s degree in Biology, Geology, Environmental Science, or similar environmental discipline can substitute up to 1 year of work experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have the ability to reserve rental cars for business purposes
  • Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite products, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Google Earth Pro, and Bluebeam.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 Hour Construction and/or Safe Land Certification preferred, or to be obtained upon hire.
  • Completion of Oil & Gas annual safety training provided by the Company.
  • First Aid & CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform or oversee wetland delineations, stream assessments, and threatened or endangered species habitat assessments.
  • Prepare reports and permits with minimal supervision adhering to state and federal environmental regulations including stream and wetland permitting, as well as the Endangered Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, Section 401/404 of the Clean Water Act, and state water quality standards.
  • Create environmental permitting and mitigation strategy.
  • Interact with clients and the regulatory community.
  • Mentor junior staff.
  • Assist team members by providing technical directions.
  • Assist with proposal development and budget tracking.
  • Collect and evaluate water quality results.
  • Ability to coordinate and principally self-direct assigned field investigation tasks, and project deliverables.
  • Be able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment to meet project deadlines.
  • Work in a multi-discipline team context.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
