About The Position

The Senior Biological Technician I position at Parsons involves utilizing scientific expertise to detect biological threat agents, both natural and man-made. The position is based at Fort Detrick in Frederick, MD, and is part of the Biological Defense Research Directorate's Molecular Diagnostics Department.

Requirements

• M.S. degree in a biological science field.
• 5 years of practical experience in molecular biology.
• Practical knowledge of nucleic acid-based assay development and reagent production.
• At least 2 years of experience in reagent production.
• At least 2 years of experience in laboratory and quality management.
• Experience in writing and revising SOPs and quality documents.
• Ability to guide and direct junior technicians.
• Experience in data analysis and troubleshooting in research and production projects.
• Experience working under an ISO 17034/17025 Quality Management System.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Supports research and development of molecular diagnostics.
• Produces reagents and manages quality control processes.
• Develops real-time polymerase chain reaction assays.
• Conducts molecular assay development and platform testing.
• Evaluates proficiency testing for biological threats.
• Provides laboratory and field support for biological threat agent detection.
