Job Summary: The Senior Bioinformatician, Flow Cytometry provides advanced technical expertise to develop, implement, and maintain scalable analytical and software solutions supporting high‑dimensional flow cytometry data analysis for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, bioinformatics, statistics, molecular biology, genetics, or a related field; or a Master’s degree with relevant experience; or a PhD or equivalent advanced degree
  • Strong experience developing analytical solutions using Python and/or R for scientific or bioinformatics applications
  • Experience working in Linux or UNIX‑based environments, including scripting, system interfaces, and computational infrastructure
  • Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
  • Advanced understanding of algorithm development and statistical methods applied to biological or high‑dimensional data
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional scientific teams
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and optimize the computational efficiency of large‑scale scientific computing systems supporting high‑dimensional flow cytometry data analysis
  • Define requirements to manage and maintain analytical infrastructure, including software updates and hardware refreshes, to ensure reliable and scalable workflows
  • Design, develop, and implement algorithmic and software‑based solutions for automated gating, quality control, and flow cytometry data processing
  • Integrate new analytical technologies into existing bioinformatics pipelines and validate analytical methods in regulated environments
  • Scope, estimate, and execute analytical and development activities in support of internal flow cytometry projects
  • Prepare technical documentation including analysis plans, specifications, and validation documentation
  • Lead department‑level and cross-functional initiatives, coordinating resources and providing technical mentorship and training to staff
