Position Overview Performs manual and machine operator tasks related to the operation of bindery machines, continuously meeting/exceeding productivity and quality standards, as well as completing within budget and on time. At a Sr. level, the operator will act as a resource to Operators, and assist leads in trouble shooting. May assist in training others and operate multiple machines. The Sr Operator, Bindery may operate multiple machines in the following areas: Folding, Stitching, Collating, Cutting. Second Shift: 2:30PM to 10:30PM

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, four plus years of relevant industry experience or 520 hours as an Imagine temporary employee along with manager approval to hire full-time
  • Ability to communicate/understand basic written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and measurement.
  • Basic computer skills including email, basic mouse, keyboard, and menu navigation.
  • 2+ years experience running multiple bindery equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in printing, manufacturing, distribution and or fulfillment
  • English proficiency is preferred to support job specific operational training and instruction requirements, workplace safety, and effective employee collaboration in a fast paced, changing environment. Many safety protocols, emergency instructions, and operational documentation are provided in English. Clear communication among team members during production activities is essential to maintain efficient workflow, adapt to changing requirements, prevent accidents, ensure compliance with safety standards, and maintain efficient workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and adjust machines
  • Load machine, observe operation and match samples to job order specifications
  • Review job ticket for specifications or special instructions that may impact the operation or set-up of the machine
  • Continuously review the quality of the product during operation to meet specified job requirements
  • Performs preventative maintenance to equipment
  • Completes production records
  • Track job costs/production hours as applicable
  • Train Operators as needed
  • Works overtime as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
