The Senior Billing Specialist manages and supports billing systems and processes to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement for services provided. This role oversees billing activities, resolves discrepancies, communicates with funders and stakeholders, and ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Requirements

  • HS diploma, with a certificate or associate's degree in Health Care preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience of at least three (3) years in billing and/or funding required.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced proficiency in billing systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Salesforce experience preferred; quick to learn new systems and payer portals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently, manage priorities, and mentor others.
  • Effective communicator with integrity and alignment to Bancroft's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end billing processes, including invoice generation, payment reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Handle high-volume, complex client accounts and ensure timely claim submission and payment.
  • Communicate with funders and case managers to maintain accurate records and strong partnerships.
  • Conduct regular billing audits and prepare detailed reports for management.
  • Serve as a key resource on billing policies, procedures, and complex transactions.
  • Configure and maintain billing software; assist with system upgrades, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Support training for staff on billing procedures and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Billing Director on A/R research, reporting, and special projects.
  • Maintain effective communication with staff, families, and external partners.
  • Adhere to Bancroft's Code of Ethics and all regulatory, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Cooperate with state and local agencies during audits or investigations.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and ethical work environment aligned with Bancroft's mission and values.
  • Perform other billing and collection duties as assigned; remain flexible to organizational needs.
