About The Position

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to support the State Health Analytics Reporting Platform (SHARP). The contractor will be responsible for designing and publishing dashboards and reports using Tableau and Power BI in accordance with business requirements. This role requires translating complex program needs into actionable data visualizations and validating reporting accuracy across enterprise systems. The developer will collaborate closely with both technical staff and program teams to promote and publish enterprise reporting solutions.

Requirements

• 8 or more years of experience creating reports or performing data analysis using Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Cognos, Business Objects, QlikView, or a comparable BI tool.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into dashboards and validated reporting solutions.
• Strong SQL experience supporting enterprise reporting and data -driven decision environments.

Nice To Haves

• 4 or more years of experience working with large -scale datasets in Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Snowflake, or similar environments.
• 2 or more years of experience using Informatica ETL tools to support data transformation and reporting pipelines.
• 2 or more years of hands -on experience developing dashboards and reports in Tableau.
• 2 or more years of hands -on experience developing dashboards and reports in Power BI.
• Prior experience working with a Health and Human Services (HHS) agency.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and publish dashboards and reports using Tableau and/or Power BI based on business requirements and customer needs.
• Translate program and business requirements into validated, accurate reporting solutions for enterprise use.
• Review and evaluate business systems and user needs to design solutions that improve operational efficiency.
• Participate in testing of dashboards and reports to ensure proper function and reporting accuracy.
• Collaborate with program staff and coworkers to publish and promote reporting solutions as needed.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and apply industry -standard methodologies to reengineer workflows using technology.
• Document user requirements and system functionalities, and perform solution analysis including cost -benefit, ROI, and build vs. buy evaluations.
• Support enterprise reporting and data -driven decision environments using strong SQL expertise.
• Work with large -scale datasets and ETL processes to support data transformation and reporting pipelines.
• Coordinate with technical and program teams to ensure deliverables meet customer requirements.
